NOTTS.  COUNTY ARCHERY SOCIETY

DEVELOPMENT TRAINING SESSIONS - WINTER 2011/12

These sessions will be run for the benefit of you, the archer, and our coaches will be providing training tailored to each of you according to your own individual current levels of performance and your aspirations.

You will have the benefit of an excellent and well lit indoor facility and there will be coffee, tea, squash and biscuits available.

Each of you will be working in small groups with group of coach and this work will be supplemented on each session by a short presentation and discussion on a topic relevant to ongoing progression.

To gain the maximum benefit from these sessions please come prepared to ask about any aspects of your archery – shooting, equipment, mental or physical  - which you feel could be of particular interest and value to you and which you would like your coach to cover with you. Your coaches have a ’tool-kit’ of training, knowledge and experience in all of these areas (and more) – which ‘’tools’ they use will be dependent upon your own individual needs and requirements. The section will last for 4 ¼ hours

Winter Coaching Sessions including Junior Coaching Sessions 

 

Thank you for expressing an interest in wishing to join the coaching sessions for this coming winter.  I have now finalised the dates and cost.  It is my intention this year to hire both halls so that we can separate the juniors, however, both squads will run along side each other and will consist of 4 sessions to be held at the Joseph Whitaker Sports Hall, Warsop Lane, Rainworth, Notts NG21 0AG plus 1 outdoor session held at Sherwood Archers Ground in Southwell.  The times for the sessions will be 12.45p.m. to 5.00 p.m.  The dates for the sessions are as follows

 4^th December 2011,

29^th January 2012

26^th February 2012

25^th March 2012

1^st April 2012.

The cost for the five sessions will be £30.00 payable in advance .

In order for me to gauge numbers and allocate coaches, if you still wish to be included in the sessions could you please, let me have the completed tear off slip along with your cheque for £30.00 made payable to Nottinghamshire Archery Society by the 30 October.  

Please bring with you as well as your shooting equipment, note pad and pencil, any food and drink you feel you may need.  A brief note as to what areas of your shooting you or your coach feel needs to be worked on would be helpful to the coach allocated to you.   If you have scores for 3 rounds you have shot please can you put them on the reply slip in order to help me allocating coaches. Some of the sessions may include the use of a video camera for coaching analysis purposes, for juniors we need parental consent for this, so when completing the permission slip below please can you ensure you circle the appropriate answer to that part of the request. 

To All Nottinghamshire Archers

The county are going to be running a winter training sessions and they would run from December 2011 thru to April 2012 there will be 5 sessions, one per month and last for approximately 4 hours on a Sunday. The cost would be £30.00 for all 5 sessions and this would be payable in advance.

Although the final format has not been decided yet the sessions, they will be held both indoors and outdoors in the Spring and will be aimed at all archers (both Junior and Senior) who have been shooting for a short while or maybe even a long while and wish to improve their skills by further coaching; we would still like to see our more experienced county team archers attend and for them we hope it will be of benefit both for coaching and getting to know your other team members.

If you think you would be interested in attending the above sessions please can you let me know asap or by 30 September at the latest so that we have an idea of numbers for making the final arrangements.
